How to Use It

1. Quick Prep

• Out of the Bag: Kaya Coir is ready to go right away.

• Pro Tip: For best practices, before potting up, lightly hydrate the coir with a mild nutrient solution (EC 0.8–1.2) including a standard Cal-Mag boost, adjusted to pH 5.8–6.2.

2. Potting Up

• Fill your pots or fabric containers loosely.

• Keep it fluffy: Give the pot a light tap to let the substrate settle naturally—don't pack it down hard, as you want to preserve those air pockets for root respiration.

3. Feeding & Watering

• Feed From Day One: Coco is inert and holds no native nutrients, so start your feeding program right away. Suggested nutrient Grow Research Performance Coco

• Aim for Runoff: Water until you see about 10–20% runoff each feed to keep unused salts moving through and out of the root zone. Low runoff is acceptable but eventually nutrients will build up if the old nutrietns aren't washed out.

• Target pH: Keep your feed and runoff in the sweet spot between 5.8 and 6.4.

• Suggested Target EC:

  • Cuttings/Seedlings: 0.8 – 1.2 mS/cm

  • Veg: 1.2 – 1.8 mS/cm

  • Bloom: 1.8 – 2.2 mS/cm

4. Keeping Things on Track

• If you notice runoff EC creeping up significantly higher than what you're putting in, give the pots a light flush with a gentle, pH-balanced nutrient mix until it levels back out.
