This is a Blend of 30% Perlite Media and 70% Coco media.
The idea is to consistently blend even amounts of Perlite into the Coco to improve drainage when too wet, and water holding when too dry. Basically meaning that Perlite is a very good media while Coco can get too wet or Hydrophobic meaning once it dries out too much it can repel water.
Usually, I would recommend doing your own mixing if needed. Here is the problem. If a pot has a little more perlite than another which has a lot less and you water them the same there will be a difference. It may lead you to increase watering which improves one and makes the other too wet. If you decreased watering on one it could dry another out too much. So blending media has its issues - you need to be careful.
I also suggest there is a problem adding media to Coco. Many growers do so to make their waste media look like mulch or soil. It can be recycled into the garden. Adding bits of white perlite does eliminate that advantage of Coco.
